Wedding Policy


1. Bellefounte Baptist Church shall allow its sanctuary, fellowship hall, and kitchen facilities to be used by members and non-members who have a relative who is a member.

2. Priority for reservations shall be given to church members. In case of a conflict the church member shall be allowed to reserve the church unless the non-member has already paid fees and made the wedding plans.

3. Reservations shall not be accepted more than three (3) months in advance of the wedding date.

4. Same sex marriages shall not be permitted. The couple and their wedding plans shall be approved by the Minister and/or the church staff.

5. While members of Bellefounte do not discourage non-member weddings at Bellefounte, they do encourage the couple to consider having their wedding at the church where they plan to attend following their marriage.

6. Any couple contemplating marriage must meet with the Minister of Bellefounte for a counseling session. If more sessions are needed, he will suggest this. The Minister does not charge a fee for the wedding or counseling. Only a gift is appropriate.

7. If a Minister other than the Bellefounte Minister is to officiate, the two Ministers shall meet with each other to make appropriate arrangements and necessary courtesies.

8. The date of the wedding should be cleared with the church calendar by contacting the church secretary. The church secretary shall provide the wedding couple with a copy of the Wedding Policy, the Fellowship and Kitchen Policy, a Reservation Form (wedding form link) , and a list of the telephone numbers of the Minister, Minister of Music, Sound Director, and Custodian. A Wedding Reservation Form shall then be filled out, andreturned with appropriate fees to the church secretary. If there is cancellation up to one (1) week prior to the ceremony, all fees shall be returned. If there is cancellation within one (1) week of the ceremony, the fee for the custodian shall be retained.

9. The wedding couple and their wedding planner shall meet with the Church Custodian as soon as possible after confirmation of the wedding date to make preparations and arrangements for facility use.

10. Saturday afternoon and evening weddings are discouraged because of the extra burden it places on the persons responsible for preparing for the Sunday morning worship services.
Therefore, weddings shall not be scheduled after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

11. Weddings shall not be scheduled that would interfere or conflict with regularly scheduled church worship services or activities.

12. All music must be aproved by the Minister and Minister of Music. A meeting with the Minister of Music shall be necessary to make appropriate arrangements for musicians, vocalists, sound equipment, order of ceremony, etc.
Fees for musicians and vocalists shall be quoted upon request.

13. Bellefounte's Sound Director, Technical Director or a designated member of the sound team shall be present during the rehearsals and wedding ceremony if the church's sound equipment is needed.
The dates of the rehearsals and ceremony must be cleared with the Sound Director. An additional fee may be required by the Sound Director.

14. Dressing rooms are available and shall be provided upon request. Please indicate on the Wedding Reservation Form (Appendix B).

15. Rehearsal arrangements shall be made with the Minister, Minister of Music, Sound Director, and the Custodian.

16. In order to protect the floors of the church, only metal candles shall be used in all areas of the church. It shall be the responsibility of the wedding couple to advise the proper florists and planners of this requirement.

17. Decorations shall not be attached to pews or other pieces of furniture by taping, pinning, nailing, or gluing.

18. All decorations, flowers, props, and personal items shall be removed from the church immediately following the ceremony and reception.

19. The church Custodian shal activate heating and air conditioning at a reasonable time before the scheduled event. Florists should take this into consideration when planning delivery times.

20 The church Custodian shall be responsible for overseeing the rearanging or removal of furniture for the ceremony and reception.

21. Smoking, use of alcoholic beverages, use of illegal drugs, misuse of legal drugs shall be prohibited on the church premises.

22. In the event that the Fellowship Hall and Kitchen are used for the reception, the Fellowship and Kitchen Policy shall be followed.

23. A fee of $100.00 shall be charged to members of Bellefounte for weddings and given to the Custodian for planning and clean-up
